They are a bit pricey at $ give or take a few $$, but before I got mine I checked for 2 months to find something even with variable speed in the 10" and under market, could not even find 1, the wet cutting is so well worth it, I can cut anything and not worry about getting burned, plus the "coolant" extends the life of the blade, and all the chips are pretty much contained, I looked at hitachi, skil, craftsman etc, I went to woodcraft and all,the only ohter small bandsaw I found, was some glass cutting bandsaw, but was not sure if it had ball bearing guides, which not all small bandsaws have, the proxxon, has all the features of a big bandsaw in a micro package
first link does not work. thanks.

These strange little power saws are so neat - and cheap - they'd be fun to have just for the novelty. You'll feel like your on Gulliver's Travels to the woodshops of Lilliput.

Take, for example, the Micro-Mark scroll saw with 16 inch throat depth. Variable speed for cutting wood, metal and plastic; a tool-less blade holder for fast blade changes. It uses 5-inch long pin-end or pin-less blades (with included adapter).

The blade can be turned 90 degrees for infinite cutting length. Its flex-arm lamp lights up the cutting line. measuring 10 inch wide x /4 inch long, its cast-aluminum table tilts up to 45 degrees. A self-powered blower clears dust from the cutting line.

Or how about the Mitey-Mite table saw from Chicago Electric. Designed largely for model builders, it's just what you need when you don't want to take the dado blades off the Delta saw for a single picture frame or moulding trim. It also has a miter gauge and two slots for angle cutting.

When its 4-inch blade is slicing at 90 degrees it can cut into a 3/4-inch plywood. Big-boy safety features include a blade guard and transparent eye guard

The down side on these saws is they may be more show than substance. So cutting balsa and bamboo, easy. But read through comments - both positive and negative - that you'll find on some of the websites, such as:

The wood cutting blade wouldn't cut butter out of the box. Well, go ahead. Find a four inch wood cutting saw blade with half inch arbor size in a hardware store. Then buy 50 cause you're never gonna see it again. I modified the entire saw.

Bought a four and 3/8 inch quality blade with 20mm arbor size in the hardware store. Got out the JB weld and stuck a half inch washer centered on the blade. Cut out the base and table top to allow the larger blade to fit, tightened the brush cups as far as they would go and backed off half a turn.

Now the thing really does a good job. For a modeler like myself, these modifications went a long way. By the way, after taking such drastic action you can count on the warranty not being honored. I couldn't recommend it because it seemed worthless without the modifications. Not everyone has the ability to do that.

For tougher cuts, a lightweight circular saw can slice through tile, block, stone, granite, marble and masonry up to /4 in. thick. Tile cutting features include an adjustable depth for cutting tiles or pavers that are too wide for cutting on a stationary tile saw. Like a lot of the little saws it has a cast aluminum gear housing.

Find them at Micro-Mark  and Freightharbor and wherever tiny saws are sold:)

King Industrial - 16 Inch Scroll Saw

    King 16" scroll saw

I'm a little disappointed in the scroll saw. The silver finish on the table wears off and leaves a black table. Also it is hard to install a new blade in the upper blade holder.

    Fantastic Saw

I purchased this saw a couple weeks ago, I have been scrolling for a few years now, and wanted a better saw, from all I have learned online this was the saw for me, and I was not disappointed, I use Flying Dutchman blades and I am amazed how well it cuts, nice tight turns, smooth cuts, its a great saw, I say if your starting off and can afford it, drop the hammer on it and get it, the smoothness is well worth it alone. Even my son, who is 9, finds it easy to scroll on it for the first time.

    A good scrollsawing choice

Scroll saws bearing several brand names in this group use the same engineering to grasp and move the blade and to tilt the arm to change the bevel. Color schemes and badges vary with the names. The King KXL is a robust machine that keeps the metrics I set and delivers excellent results without a lot of fiddling. As a hobbyist, I can’t imagine tackling a project with so much real estate that I would need a deeper throat, but the 16 sits comfortably on the by mobile cabinet base I built for it. Size matters in a small shop. With any scroller the enjoyment or lack comes down to the ease of changing the blade and moving the blade from hole to hole in the work piece. Muscle memory replaced fumbling quickly for this model, and the tensioning lever (pretty much standard with Seyco, Excalibur, Pegas et al.) really helps. The tilting head, the sawdust blower and other features deliver as advertised. I added a foot switch (press on, press off) as soon as I ordered the saw. I am happy with my KXL, which was chosen after a lot of research on-line and in stores. My ancient Dremel scroller still runs, so I use it as a sander for close quarters.

Katerina was embarrassed at first, but soon she overcame the shame and enjoyed watching the couple's actions. Greg's hand lay on Lisa's chest and began to massage breasts somewhere in the second size. She stroked his stomach.
