Entire experience was great. Only suggestion would be to have rental counter person inform the person renting the car that an extra $200 will initially be posted to their credit card as pending. We were quite surprised to see that extra charge and immediately called Budget and received the explanation.

Booked my car reservation several days ahead of my arrival.. upon my o time arrival I was told they had no cars available. The gentleman working the counter explained that after 4 hours they cancel reservations because most people reserve a car and don’t show up. Budget left me and my you son stranded in Harrisburg, PA. Worst customer service I have received from a rental company. I will never use Budget rental, and I suggest to whomever reads this, to seek alternate rental providers.

I arrived after a full day of flying across country and was exhausted. The woman handling my rental had already chosen a car which would not have been my preference. I arrived at the counter by wheelchair and explained that I needed a car with a more upright seat. She disregarded my comments and said to check the car and come back to the counter if I wanted to switch. At this point, handling my bags and walking with a crutch, this was an unrealistic expectation on her part. I managed to use the car, but found it painful getting in and out of it.

They made me pay extra 20$/d for being 4 months short of 25 years !! Everything else was good enough! I booked a Chevy Spark or similar car, they slightly upgraded my booking and gave me a Buick Encore at no additional expense. Can't complain!!

The car stunk of mildew or flood damage, I had to buy febreze fabric air refresher to be able to tolerate it. The car looked clean, ran great. The staff was professional. Just a smelly car.

This was my first rental with Hertz. Their rates are usually higher than other companies, so I go with the cheaper rates. This time their rate was best so I tried it. Never again. I thought they could charge the higher rates because they had amazing service, not so. I arrived to pick up my car at BWI and the agent asked where am I returning and I told her Hershey PA. She said "I don't think so, that office is closed." I showed her my confirmation showing a Hershey drop off. She said she couldn't do anything about it. I ended up having to return it to Harrisburg, miles away and creating some logistical problems. When I went to Harrisburg to pick up another rental for my return back to BWI, I explained to this agent what happened on my pick up at BWI, asked if she could do anything for me for the inconvenience on my previous rental and she said "Well, if you had returned it to the Paxton office, we could have given you a courtesy ride to Hershey. " No mention of upgrading my car on the return, or offering to pay for the gas or even I'm sorry that happened. The agent at BWI never mentioned anything about a courtesy ride. To top it all off when we got into our car it smelled of weed and my 13 year old pointed out wet blood smears on the visor. It was all pretty disappointing.

The woman at the desk didn’t want to give the code to use the restroom. I guess that will teach me not to have White Privilege.

The disinfectant sticker and smooth pick up.The pickup location was unable to get information on other locations one way vehicle selection. I had a busy day and was trying to find a vehicle in a location closer to my work. Drop off location was under staffed and some what unprofessional looking. The vehicle had scratching, some plastic missing from the body, and dirt around the passage door on the interior (making me question the disinfectant sticker).

Vehicle, Nissan Sentra was clean and comfortable. Due to airline flight cancellation, return trip required a change of location for rental car return. Alamo hit me with a $600.00 charge which cost more that the weekly rental rate. Alamo should be upfront with cost information related to change of return location.

corrected their mistakePicked up the car at 11:30 pm in MDT. You have to deal with National Car Rental since the Alamo is closed. Started driving the car and notice the gas gage was just touching the low side of full. When I brought back the car the agent immediately corrected the fuel error in my favor.

I liked being able to pick up and return car at airport. Counter could use more staff. Car was ready when I arrived and the return went very quickly.I thought the option for refueling would mean you would pay for what you used. It looks like I paid for a full tank of gas which I would not have used. It is a great option but they should be fair and charge based on what you actually use.

The price and ease of drop off.Pick up area directions were not clear at all. We were travelling w/ 88 yr.old. Finally had to sit her down in the parking garage, leave her and go back near terminal to complete paper work which took 30 minutes. I reserved a specific car so she could get in and out of it easily. We were given a different car that was much too low and hard for her to access.

  • Damage Waiver (DW) for this branch ranges between $19.99 and $24.99 per day. - DW is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily charge. If the renter accepts DW, Enterprise waives or reduces the renters responsibility for loss of, or damage to, the rental vehicle (including but not limited to towing, storage, loss of use, administrative fees and/or diminishment of value) subject to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement and applicable laws. DW is not insurance. The purchase of DW is optional and not required to rent a car. The protection provided by DW may duplicate the renters existing coverage.     Extended Protection (EP) (Where available): Owner provides Renter or any AAD with third party liability protection in an amount equal to the minimum financial responsibility limits applicable to the vehicle (the Primary Protection). EP also provides additional third party liability protection, through an excess liability policy, with limits of the difference between the Primary Protection and a combined single limit of $1 million per accident for bodily injury and/or property damage to others arising out of the use or operation of the Owner rental vehicle by Renter or an AAD, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. EP includes UM/UIM coverage for bodily injury and property damage (only where required by law for property damage) in an amount equal to the minimum financial responsibility limits applicable to the Vehicle (the Primary Protection), and additional coverage, through an excess liability policy, with limits for the difference between the statutory minimum underlying limits and $100,000 per accident (for rentals commencing in New York, UM/UIM limits are $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident; for rentals commencing in Hawaii, the UM/UIM limits are $1,000,000 combined single limit) or state mandated UM/UIM limit, whichever is greater. OWNER AND RENTER REJECT ANY ADDITIONAL UM/UIM COVERAGE TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. EP, including UM/UIM benefits is provided only when Renter or any AAD are driving the Vehicle.   • As a customer, you have a choice as to how you would like to pay for fuel.

    Option 1 -  Prepay Fuel --This option allows the renter to pay for the full tank of gas at the time of rental and return the tank empty. The price is based on an estimate of current fuel prices and the average tank size for the car received. No refunds will be issued for unused gas.

    Option 2 -  We Refill. --This option allows the renter to pay Alamo at the end of the rental for gas used but not replaced. Price per gallon will be higher than local fuel prices.

    Option 3 -  You Refill. --This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas to avoid extra fuel charges.

  • Customers who reside in the United States, U.S. Territories, or Canada

    Customers who reside in the U.S., U.S. Territories, or Canada must present a valid, unexpired government-issued Driver’s license which includes a photograph of the customer.  Digital licenses are not accepted.  The driver's license must be valid for the entire rental period.

    Members of the United States Armed Forces who are on active duty may present an expired home state license under the following conditions:

    • They also present an Active Military ID, and

    • They are in compliance with their military extension policy of the state which issued the license.  These policies vary by state and customers are encouraged to check with the appropriate department of motor vehicles for more information.

    Customers travelling to the U.S. and Canada from other countries

    It is important that customers check with the appropriate Department of Motor Vehicles in the States or Provinces in which they intend to travel to ensure compliance with their various licensing laws.  The following practices are used to ensure the customer is presenting a facially valid license at the time of rental. 

    Customers traveling to the United States and Canada from another country must present the following:

    • Their home country driver’s license that is valid, unexpired and includes a photograph, and

    • If the home country license is in a language other than English (or French, for rentals in Canada) and the letters are English (i.e. German, Spanish, etc.) an International Driver’s Permit is recommended, but not required, for translation purposes in addition to the home country license.  

    • If the home country license is in a language other than English and the letters are not English (i.e.alphabet is not an extended Latin-based alphabet like German or Spanish but is Russian, Japanese, Arabic, etc.) an International Driver’s Permit is required. 

    • If an International Driver’s permit cannot be obtained in the home country, another professional, type-written translation may be substituted.  In either case the home country license must also be presented.

    • Customers may not rent a vehicle solely with the International Driver’s Permit.  The International Driver’s Permit is a translation of the individual’s home country license and is not considered a license nor is it considered valid identification.

    • In some US locations, customers not holding a US driver’s license may be asked to provide additional documentation.  Examples of this may include a valid passport or, in certain states (AZ, CA, CO, NM, TX) a valid Mexican voter registration card and/or inbound and outbound travel documentation.
    • In some Canadian locations, customers not holding a Canadian driver’s license may be asked to provide additional valid government-issued documentation.  Examples of this may include a valid passport.

    Other requirements

    • Photocopies of Driver’s Licenses are not accepted

    • “Learner’s Permits” are not accepted.

    • Any license which, on its face, restricts the licensee to the use and operation of a vehicle equipped with a form of a breathalyzer apparatus is not accepted.

    • Temporary Driver’s Licenses may be refused if the renting location is unable to otherwise verify the customer’s identity or verify the authenticity of the temporary license.  Additional Government-issued identification may be required.

  • The following forms of payment are accepted at the end of the rental.

    All renters and additional drivers must be 21 or older. All renters must have a valid driver’s license and a major credit card or debit card in their name. Individuals with learners’ or instructional permits are not eligible to rent. This is only a summary. For additional details, please reference the Driver’s License Information Policy.

    AGE -

    The underage surcharge for drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 is $25 per day. Renters between the ages of 21 and 24 may rent the following vehicle classes: Economy through Full Size cars, Cargo and Minivans, and Compact, Small and Standard SUVs with seating up to 5 passengers.


    At airport locations, debit card deposits are only accepted at the time of rental if accompanied by a ticketed return travel itinerary. The name and address shown on the renter’s driver’s license must match their current home address. Active duty military personnel are exempt from address requirements.

    Renters using a debit card may rent the following vehicle classes: Economy through Full Size cars, Cargo and Minivans, and Compact, Small and Standard SUVs with seating up to 5 passengers.

    Other than the renter’s spouse or domestic partner, no other additional drivers are allowed.

    At the time of rental, charges will be placed on the debit card which reduce the available funds in the account associated with the card used. Renter is responsible for any overdraft fees incurred. See Rental Authorization and Deposit Amount for more details.


    Disembarking passengers will be asked to provide a credit card or debit card with funds to cover the cost of rental. Renters without a ticketed return travel itinerary will need to provide a credit card with sufficient funds to cover the cost of the rental plus $300. Debit cards are only accepted at the time of rental if accompanied by a ticketed return travel itinerary.

    Money orders and prepaid cards are not acceptable forms of security deposit but may be used to pay any balance due at the end of the rental.  Cash is not accepted.

  • Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP) is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily charge. If accepted, SLP provides the renter and authorized drivers with up to $300,000 combined single limit for third party liability claims. If the renter accepts SLP, Alamo provides third party liability protection up to the applicable minimum financial responsibility limit and Zurich American Insurance Company provides excess third party liability insurance coverage from the applicable minimum financial responsibility limit to $300,000. This is a summary only. SLP is subject to the terms, conditions, provisions, limitations and exclusions in the supplemental rental liability insurance excess policy underwritten by Zurich American Insurance Company. The purchase of SLP is optional and not required to rent a car. The coverage provided by SLP may duplicate the renters existing coverage. Alamo is not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the renters existing coverage; therefore the renter should examine his or her personal insurance policies or other sources of coverage that may duplicate the coverage provided by SLP.

  • Our TollPass Program is our electronic toll collection program which allows our renters to drive through electronic toll lanes and pay tolls electronically, without having to stop and pay cash. In addition, many toll plazas have converted to all electronic tolling and removed the option for travelers to stop and pay cash at toll plazas.
