I always tell fans that the complete series DVD boxed set is your best bet if you want to be able to watch Murder, She Wrote whenever you want. With all 12 seasons included, it’s usually much much cheaper to buy the boxed set than each season individually. Plus, it’s frequently on sale on Amazon. But even at full price, the 264 episodes included in the set come out to about 50 cents per episode, which (if you think about it) is a bargain. Note that the boxed set does not include the four TV movie sequels, but they are also available on DVD. In my opinion, if you own a physical copy of something, then you don’t have to worry about possible changes to the TV programming schedule or changes to streaming availability.

‘Murder, She Wrote’ Is Now Streaming on Amazon Prime Video

Hey Amazon Prime subscribers! If you’re looking for a delightful new binge, the series you gotta stream next is no mystery. Murder, She Wrote is now on Prime Video, and your life just got a whole lot better. As of April 1, Seasons 1-5 of the iconic ’80s murder mystery drama are now available to stream on Prime Video. That’s 111 new mysteries to solve (and approximately 111 new dead bodies to identify). If you like your true crime a lot less true and a lot more quaint, then take a jaunt to Cabot Cove, Maine and have the time of your life!

If you’re looking into Murder, She Wrote for the first time, here’s a rundown of what you’re getting. The show stars the legendary Angela Lansbury as mystery writer Jessica Fletcher, an ordinary woman with an extraordinary knack for deduction who just so happens to be in close proximity to murders on the regular. Lansbury was more or less the only star of the show, as every episode introduced a new mystery and lineup of suspects for Fletcher to tackle. Other recurring characters on the show included William Windom as Dr. Seth Hazlitt, Ron Masak as Sheriff Metzger, and Tom Bosley as Sheriff Tupper.

Murder, She Wrote, originally ran for 12 seasons on CBS, debuting in 1984 and concluding in 1996. The episodes on Prime Video, Seasons 1-5, represent the first significant portion of the show; Seasons 6 and 7 saw Lansbury step into the background a bit in order to let the actress (then in her early ’60s) rest up a bit. She came back in full force, though, starting back up in Seasons 8. Whether or not the remainder of the run will be added to Prime Video remains unclear.

If you’re looking for a fun place to begin your journey, why not start with Season 3’s “Magnum on Ice,” part two of a crossover with Tom Selleck’s Magnum P.I.? The ’80s sure were a time, weren’t they?

The episode itself is important, the very fact of this power, no matter how ephemeral it may be. I experienced such a delightful feeling only here, in my monastery, and nowhere else. I could deliberately carelessly wave my hand and say - This, I could touch any of them or, pouting my lips, march along a row of half-naked girls.
