Best Destiny 2 Weapons: PVE, PVP and Exotics

Exotics deserve a dedicated section because they are truly special. Some of them literally break the rules of what a weapon should be able to do in Destiny 2.

Having said that, you should always be clear on what you’re looking for when talking about weapons in Destiny 2. Are you looking for: A weapon for PVE or a weapon for PVP?

PVP vs PVE

PVP and PVE are entirely different beasts that require entirely different tactics, strategies, and weapons. A good gun for PVE will most likely be very different than a good gun for PVP. For that reason, we will always talk about PVP and PVE separately.

Weapon sunsetting: Several weapons in Destiny 2 were recently retired. They are still in the game but are no longer viable for end-game content. Read everything there is to know about weapon sunsetting here.

The Best Destiny 2 PVE Weapons

You’ll see us talk a lot about DPS, damage per second, throughout this section.

About DPS: DPS is important for PVE, because the higher the DPS, the more damage you can deal to a Boss or Major.

What to look for in PVE

A good PVE weapon should be able to deal a good amount of DPS while remaining consistent and easy to use. Some weapons can deal great DPS, but require excellent aim and leave little room for mistakes.

All of our top PVE weapons follow those criteria. They do good DPS, are consistent, and easy to use. These are the weapons you’ll want to bring to the most challenging PVE content in Destiny 2:

Destiny 2 Season of the Lost Exotic Weapon Tier List

By Malachi Lyonsdove

ShareTweetEmail

Destiny 2 has close to 100 exotic weapons for players to choose from, but Season of the Lost has shifted which weapons are in the top-tier meta.

Destiny 2 has almost 100 exotic weapons for players to use. With so many options, it can be hard to choose one, but the game’s constantly changing meta can also mean certain weapons are good in one season and not another. In Season of the Lost, there are quite a few exotic weapons that stand out from the pack, but only a handful have become necessities.

This doesn’t mean players shouldn’t use whatever weapons they want in Destiny 2, but some options are more reliable than others. For those looking to see the very best weapons available in the current meta, the following tier list should prove to be extremely useful.

RELATED: Destiny 2 Idea Would Improve Xur Loot Pool

Season of the Lost PvE Exotics

For PvE, there are quite a few weapons that players should consider using if they have them in Destiny 2. While fusion rifles are dominating the landscape in Season of the Lost, there are still reliable options found in other weapon classes. Some will be difficult to get, but others are as easy as a trip to the Monument to Lost Lights.

S-Tier – Vex Mythoclast and Lorentz Driver

  • These two weapons are going to be the best options for players this season. While both exotic weapons are solid on their own, the meta this season focuses on their weapon classes. With the option to run an Unstoppable mod that grants Unstoppable to both fusion rifles and linear fusions rifles, as well as the Particle Deconstruction mod, Vex Mythoclast and Lorentz Drive become two of the most valuable guns in the game. The good news for players is that Lorentz Driver can be obtained through the seasonal rewards, but the bad news is that Vex Mythoclast is a raid drop from the Vault of Glass, leaving Guardians’ ability to get it up to chance.

A-Tier – One Thousand Voices, Sleeper Simulant, and Trinity Ghoul

  • One Thousand Voices and Sleeper Simulant are again a fusion rifle and linear fusion rifle respectively. Their usefulness in Season of the Lost comes from pretty much the same place that Vex Mythoclast and Lorentz Driver’s do. The difference between these two, though, is their burst DPS potential. While they don’t excel at clearing enemies in the same way, they make up for it by delivering immense power. These weapons are ideal for taking down Champions and any bosses that players run into. One Thousand Voices runs into the same downside as Vex Mythoclast, though, as it's a raid reward and drops at the end of the Last Wish raid. Thankfully, Sleeper Simulant can be easily obtained from the Monument to Lost Lights.
  • Trinity Ghoul is going to be one of the best options for players when it comes to clearing out enemies. The bow's perks spreads arc damage that make chains between mobs that are close to one another. With the burst of lightning, the strike of the arrows, and chain damage, Trinity Ghoul can make quick work of squishy groups. Bows also have an Overload mod in Season of the Lost, making Trinity Ghoul a valuable asset when dealing with overpowered Overload Champions in Destiny 2.

B-Tier – Telesto and The Lament:

  • Telesto benefits from Particle Deconstruction like the other fusion rifles and linear fusion rifles in Destiny 2, but its lack of power makes it a solid middle-of-the-pack weapon. While Telesto can clear out enemies pretty well and will be good against Unstoppable champions, at the end of the day there are better options to choose from. That doesn’t mean the weapon isn’t effective, but if it isn’t someone’s only option for a Nightfall Strike, then they’ll probably be better off choosing a higher rated or an alternative exotic.
  • The Lament has been a reliable option since its release, but like Telesto, it can become situational. While the exotic sword’s burst damage is incredible, and it has intrinsic anti-barrier capabilities as well as a sword mod for Overload Champions this season, getting in close to strong enemies and Champions in higher-level activities can be dangerous. The Lament continues to be a great solution for raids like the Vault of Glass or tearing down Atraks in the Deep Stone Crypt, but players looking to use it in Grandmaster Nightfall strikes should be incredibly confident and just as quick on their feet.

C-Tier – Ager’s Scepter and Leviathan’s Breath

  • Despite the two champion mods that Leviathan’s Breath has at its disposal this season, the bow still feels pretty situational. Its intrinsic effectiveness against Unstoppable Champions and high damage makes it a heavy hitter, but there are some faster firing options with better ammo economy. Similarly, Leviathan’s Breath falls short against Overload Champions when there are weapons that use special and primary ammo instead of heavy ammo.
  • Ager’s Scepter breaks away from the other weapons mentioned so far by not having an applicable Champion mod available for it. While it would be nice to see trace rifles have an applicable mod once the Witch Queen expansion releases, for now, the class of weapons is reliant on its clearing abilities. Luckily, Ager’s Scepter does this well and stacks great with items like Mantle of Battle Harmony. With the shatter stasis damage that Ager’s Scepter has and its catalyst, the weapon outshines some key exotics from past seasons and can be great for general PvE activities. Once again, though, there are several better options available to Destiny 2 fans.

Season of the Lost PvP

The PvP meta in Destiny 2 doesn’t change as often as PvE’s, but that doesn’t mean things don’t get shaken up sometimes. The recent matchmaking changes to Trials of Osiris and the game mode’s overhaul are good examples of how PvP can evolve. The addition of new weapons can also shift the landscape as players develop new tactics and impressive ways to use their exotic gear.

S-Tier – Vex Mythoclast and The Chaperone

  • The Vex Mythoclast stability and rate of fire outperforms many weapons, and players with the catalyst can be hard to beat in one-on-one situations. The Vex Mythoclast's drop rate from the Vault of Glass has made it a nightmare for some in PvP, but those that have it should use it.
  • The Chaperone’s ability to kill is unmatched by many shotguns, and fast-moving Hunters can surprise other Guardians with a well-placed slug. Its range and damaged are a great asset for anyone that feels they can outmaneuver opponents.

A-Tier – Ace of Spades, Dead Man’s Tale

  • From longer distances, Dead Man’s Tale can make quick work of enemies with high precision damage and a fast rate of fire. While not as obnoxious as it once was in PvP spaces, even after a nerf DMT can dominate in matches.
  • The Ace of Spades is deadly at close-to-mid ranges and packs one of the most effective PvP perks out there. With Memento Mori, Guardians can pay homage to Cayde-6 and deliver six buffed rounds when they reload after a kill. While it requires Guardians to have already eliminated an opponent, a quick kill and reload can result in skilled players wiping out enemy teams in Trials of Osiris.

B-Tier – Thorn

  • Thorn sees consistent use in the Crucible in Destiny 2, but it doesn’t stand out as much as other weapons in PvP. Despite this, Thorn can be a lethal addition to anyone’s loadout and compliments an array of playstyles. Poking at enemies in small team encounters becomes easier with the damage over time that hits from Thorn, while its place as a hand cannon means it can make quick work of enemies at mid-range. It won’t replace the Ace of Spade in many people’s inventories, but it’s still a solid option for players that want to pressure their opponents.

C-Tier – Jotunn

  • Jotunn has its usefulness in the Crucible, but the tracking mechanic of the fusion rifle can be unreliable. Unsuspecting Guardians become quick work for the explosive round that Jotunn fires, but its charge time can occasionally ruin opportunities for a clean kill. It seems like a gun that could be useful at long ranges, but enemies that find cover won’t take as much damage (if any), and as a result, Jotunn can become a situational option for mid-range engagements.

While these weapons are favored by many players and perform well, they're not requirements. Exotic weapons in Destiny 2 often push players' play styles and have a primary focus. What suits one Guardian might not always suit another, making less used options great for those that want to experience something off-meta. Still, for those that are only looking to use the best of the best, that information should now be clear.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Top 5 MUST HAVE Exotics for Season 15! - Destiny 2 Season of the Lost Best Exotics

If you’re new to Destiny 2 or have missed a few seasons, your Exotic arsenal probably looks a little light. Since the Forsaken era, Bungie has launched some massive Exotic weapons that fundamentally change how you play. But there are so many Exotics in the Archive that it can be hard to pick.

Here are the Top 10 Exotics to grab from the Exotic Kiosk in Destiny 2. We’ve ordered them here from best to worst, but all of these are great guns and we recommend picking up what you can afford.

1. Anarchy

Image: Bungie via Polygon

Cost: 1 Exotic Cipher, 150,000 Glimmer, 240 Spoils of Conquest, 2 Ascendant Shards

Anarchy is the best Exotic in Destiny 2, especially for any difficult content. The weapon fires Arc mines that stick to enemies and the environment, dealing damage in a pulse when enemies activate them. If you stick two to a target — like a raid or Strike boss — it will tick with damage every second or so.

Anarchy does very high damage, but more importantly, you can fire it and move on to another enemy or use your Special weapon to deal additional damage. It’s a ton of damage for very little work.

You should get Anarchy as soon as you can, but you may want to focus on other guns here while you grind out those 240 Spoils of Conquest.

2. Ace of Spades

Image: Bungie via Polygon

Cost: 1 Exotic Cipher, 125,000 Glimmer, 200 Etheric Spiral, 1 Ascendant Shard

Ace of Spades is the perfect primary weapon. It’s stacked with perks, letting you reload faster on a headshot (while also making enemies explode on headshot kills) and giving you a damage bonus after you kill something. It’s great for clearing red bar enemies and can even hold its own against some tougher foes.

Ace of Spades is also a universal Exotic. It’s awesome in every activity, including Gambit and Crucible.

3. Eriana’s Vow

Image: Bungie via Polygon

Cost: 1 Exotic Cipher, 100,000 Glimmer, 150 Helium Filament, 1 Ascendant Shard

Eriana’s Vow is an odd weapon. It’s a hand cannon like Ace of Spades, but it fires very slowly and uses Special ammo. Eriana’s Vow packs a serious punch, dealing a ton of headshot damage if you can stay accurate.

Eriana’s is specifically useful in Nightfalls and activities with Champions. It’s one of the only Exotics that can pierce the shield of a Barrier Champion just by shooting at it. Eriana’s isn’t a great weapon for raids or bosses, but it’s essential for taking down mini-bosses.

4. Izanagi’s Burden

Image: Bungie via Polygon

Cost: 1 Exotic Cipher, 150,000 Glimmer, 250 Spinmetal Leaves, 2 Ascendant Shard

Izanagi’s Burden is our second boss damage weapon on this list, behind Anarchy. With Izanagi, you can hold the reload button to smoosh four bullets in the clip into one, big bullet. This big bullet does incredible damage, so this is an awesome weapon to pick up for raids or dungeons.

The only problem with Izanagi’s Burden is that you spend a lot of time reloading and it’s not too great in non-difficult activities — the damage is usually overkill. But Izanagi excels at burst damage, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

5. Thorn

Image: Bungie via Polygon

Cost: 1 Exotic Cipher, 125,000 Glimmer, 200 Dusklight Shard, 1 Ascendant Shard

Thorn is another awesome hand cannon in both PvE and PvP. Thorn deals some light poison damage when you shoot an enemy. But killing an enemy empowers the weapon, reloading it and causing even more poison damage.

This effect is super fun in PvE, and you can burn through a group of enemies very quickly. But Thorn excels in the Crucible. Once you practice with its weird sights, you can take down entire teams of enemies with some careful headshots and poison damage.

6. The Fourth Horseman

Image: Bungie via Polygon

Cost: 1 Exotic Cipher, 125,000 Glimmer, 200 Dusklight Shard, 1 Ascendant Shard

The Fourth Horseman is a shotgun with four barrels instead of two, and that should tell you basically everything you need to know about this gun. It fires very fast, has very short range, and deals a ton of damage.

The Fourth Horseman is a pretty situational Exotic. If you’re up close to an enemy but can’t use a sword, The Fourth Horseman is extremely powerful. That may sound like a lot of qualifiers, but it’s more common than you think. For example, Fourth Horseman is one of the best options for damage in the first encounter of the Deep Stone Crypt raid.

7. Jotunn

Image: Bungie via Polygon

Cost: 1 Exotic Cipher, 125,000 Glimmer, 200 Microphasic Datalattice, 1 Ascendant Shard

Jotunn looks like a toaster, sits over your arm, and launches a giant ball of fire that seeks your enemies. This fusion rifle is very unique and one of our personal favorites. It deals damage in an area to take care of groups and it hits very hard on mini-boss targets with a ton of health.

Jotunn is also flexible like Ace of Spades. You’ll have a great time with this gun in Strikes, missions, Nightfalls, Crucible, or Gambit. It’s a great weapon to keep on you and throw on when there’s nothing else to use.

8. Legend of Acrius

Image: Bungie via Polygon

Cost: 1 Exotic Cipher, 150,000 Glimmer, 240 Spoils of Conquest, 2 Ascendant Shards

Legend of Acrius is the antithesis to The Fourth Horseman. This shotgun sits in the Heavy slot, fires very slowly, and obliterates anything in its path with a single shot. Acrius is the kind of gun you bring when you really need to eliminate something immediately — if you can get close enough.

Acrius is one of the most fringe Exotics on this list and it’s very expensive. But since it goes in your heavy slot, it supplements a lot of longer range builds very nicely, letting you run snipers and scout rifles for long range before swapping to Acrius to take out whatever gets too close.

9. Sleeper Simulant

Image: Bungie via Polygon

Cost: 1 Exotic Cipher, 125,000 Glimmer, 200 Baryon Bough, 1 Ascendant Shard

Sleeper Simulant is a Linear Fusion rifle that deals a ton of damage and bounces around with its ricochet powers. Sleeper is another solid boss DPS weapon, although weapons like Izanagi’s Burden have eclipsed it in recent seasons. However, Sleeper is a weapon you shouldn’t count out, because it’s very easy to use. It’s a great weapon to start out on if you’re new to Destiny.

10. Bad Juju

Image: Bungie via Polygon

Cost: 1 Exotic Cipher, 125,000 Glimmer, 200 Microphasic Datalattice, 1 Ascendant Shard

Bad Juju is all about getting you your Super more often. The more enemies you kill, the more damage Bad Juju does, and the more Super energy it generates.

This isn’t a pulse rifle that you want to take with you into the Crucible or even into tougher content like raids. But Bad Juju is the perfect “just doing missions” weapon. It’s awesome for basis content and is a ton of fun to use. Like Sleeper Simulant, it’s also a great beginner Exotic, letting you test out your Super way more often.

PvP-only Exotics to grab

Many of the Exotics we mentioned above are awesome in PvP. But there are some guns in Destiny that only succeed in PvP, so it’s hard to recommend them unless you really like slaying out in the Crucible. Here are our top three Exotic Archive picks if you want to impress Lord Shaxx.

1. The Last Word

Image: Bungie via Polygon

Cost: 1 Exotic Cipher, 125,000 Glimmer, 200 Etheric Spiral, 1 Ascendant Shard

The Last Word is an old-west style six-shooter. It’s a hand cannon that fires very quickly and has limited range. So while it’s really not great against normal enemies, it’s incredible in the Crucible.

If you’re using a mouse and keyboard, you can learn to really mess players up if you practice. But controller players have it easy with The Last Word. Because of the aim-assist with controllers, The Last Word is extremely accurate at close range and a free-kill machine.

2. Bastion

Image: Bungie via Polygon

Cost: 1 Exotic Cipher, 100,000 Glimmer, 150 Etheric Spiral, 1 Ascendant Shard

Bastion is the only Kinetic fusion rifle in the game, meaning you can use it with some of Destiny’s powerful Energy weapons. Bastion does need to charge up like a traditional fusion, but it fires in very accurate bursts, letting you ruin enemies at a distance.

Like Last Word, Bastion takes some getting used to. But in the hands of an expert, Bastion can do some serious work in the Crucible.

3. Truth

Image: Bungie via Polygon

Cost: 1 Exotic Cipher, 125,000 Glimmer, 200 Baryon Bough, 1 Ascendant Shard

Truth is a rocket launcher that can hold multiple shots at once and has some serious tracking. That sounds boring, but you can lock onto an enemy with Truth, aim into the air, fire, and the rocket will still hunt them down and kill them.

The only problem with Truth is that it’s a heavy weapon, which means you need to find some ammo bricks to make it work. But loading Truth is a guaranteed kill, and it’s the perfect heavy weapon to run in Crucible if you’re not using another Exotic.

These are our top Exotic picks as of Beyond Light. But Bungie will surely add new Exotics to the Archive as content heads out of the game and into the Destiny Content Vault. We’ll update with list whenever Bungie makes a major adjustment to the Exotic Archive.

Destiny 2 exotics best

The best Destiny 2 Exotics - 10 Exotic weapons everyone should use

Choosing the best Destiny 2 Exotics can be somewhat tricky since some of them are acquired randomly from Exotic engrams. Fortunately for new players, many of the top-tier Exotics are tied to unique quests or specific activities, making them much easier to obtain. With that in mind, we've highlighted 10 incredible Exotic weapons that all players can earn without relying on RNG. The best Destiny 2 Exotics are always changing – as evidenced by how many of these Exotics are from Year 4 content – but none of these guns will ever let you down.

Divinity

How to get it: Complete the Divinity Destiny 2 quest tied to the Garden of Salvation raid in the Destiny 2: Shadowkeep expansion.

Why you should use it: Trace rifles always have their own gimmick, and Divinity's is especially powerful. Holding its beam on enemies will trap them in an arc cage, and this cage not only increases the damage enemies take, anything that hits it (including swords and rockets) will deal critical damage, plus Divinity itself periodically deals a big chunk of damage to caged enemies. Divinity is also one of the strongest Overload options for dealing with Champions since a single zap can instantly stun. Divinity is versatile, powerful, and a must-have for heaps of team-based content.

Xenophage

How to get it: Complete the Destiny 2 Xenophage quest which is also unlocked through the Destiny 2: Shadowkeep expansion.

Why you should use it: Xenophage fires explosive rounds that hit like a truck and basically can't miss, making it the best machine gun for boss damage. It holds a ton of ammo, has a hefty magazine, and it's just incredibly consistent and comfy to use. It's arguably the best all-rounder in the entire game. From Champions to raid bosses to groups of orange-bars, there's virtually nothing a magazine of Xenophage can't chew through.

The Lament

How to get it: Complete the Destiny 2 Lament quest unlocked through the Destiny 2: Beyond Light expansion.

Why you should use it: At some point, a designer at Bungie looked at swords and thought, "These are cool, but what if they were chainsaws?" and the Lament was the result of this thought. It's an Exotic sword with a special guard that revs its blade, dramatically increasing its damage and causing hits to heal you. Oh, and it deals anti-barrier damage, just because. If whatever you're fighting can be hit with a sword – like the mid-boss of the Deep Stone Crypt Raid – you want to hit it with Lament. It has the highest single-target damage of any weapon in the game, and its healing ability makes it a remarkably safe choice for Nightfalls.

Witherhoard

How to get it: Buy it from the Exotic kiosk in the tower and unlock its catalyst by speaking to the gunsmith Banshee-44.

Why you should use it: Witherhoard fires poisonous rounds that can infect enemies directly to cause damage over time, or spawn pools of poison that deal damage in an area. These two damage sources can be stacked on a boss – infect them first then hit them with a puddle – and killing an infected enemy will also cause a pool to spawn. It's all AoE, all the time, in other words, which makes it very good. Its Exotic catalyst takes Witherhoard to the next level, though, giving it the Auto-Hoading Holster perk and turning it into a fire-and-forget source of powerful neutral damage. Witherhoard is good literally everywhere thanks to its excellent ammo economy, and you'll likely never get tired of using it.

Anarchy

How to get it: Buy it from the Exotic kiosk using seals earned from current raids. It will take many, many raids to get enough seals, but it'll be worth it.

Why you should use it: Think of Anarchy as Witherhoard's big brother. It's an arc heavy grenade launcher that can be used for passive single-target damage or wide-range AoE thanks to its lightning tether grenades. If you shoot down a barrage of four grenades, anything that walks through the resulting lighting square will get zapped. If you stick two grenades to a boss, it will take a ton of damage over time, freeing you up to swap to a special weapon like a sniper or slug shotgun. Anarchy also holds a lot of ammo, which makes it a strong choice for Grandmaster-level content. It's free damage and area control in one Exotic, making it one of the best raid Exotics and best general Exotics of all time.

Eriana's Vow

How to get it: Buy it from the Exotic kiosk in the Tower and unlock its catalyst by speaking to the gunsmith Banshee-44.

Why you should use it: Eriana's Vow is one of the most reliable and versatile weapons around. It's a hand cannon that uses special ammo, so think of it as a high-capacity sniper with superb ammo efficiency. Its special perk deals bonus critical damage as long as you always hit headshots or shoot shields, plus it does bonus shield damage on top of being an anti-barrier weapon. Its Exotic catalyst ups its magazine from six to nine rounds and adds in Auto-Loading Holster, making it much easier to pull it out when you need to pop a Champion shield or just pop some heads. Eriana's Vow is another mainstay choice for high-end content with lots of Champions, especially Nightfalls and Lost Sectors, and it's a downright essential Exotic to have.

Izanagi's Burden

How to get it: Buy it from the Exotic kiosk in the Tower, and get its catalyst as a random common drop from miscellaneous activities.

Why you should use it: After a mix of buffs and nerfs, Izanagi's Burden is still just plain good. It's a sniper rifle that can compress its four-round magazine into a single powerful shot, and its catalyst makes that one shot even more devastating. This makes it great for bursting down Champions, and even as a special weapon, Izanagi's Burden is competitive as a boss DPS option. The fact that it is a special weapon also makes Special Ammo Finisher a strong mod for any build running this sniper, and that makes it incredibly reliable in challenging content.

Ticuu's Divination

How to get it: Purchase or level the Season 13 season pass, or buy it from the Exotic kiosk in the future. Talk to Banshee-44 to get its Exotic catalyst.

Why you should use it: Ticuu's Divination is a bow in name only. It plays more like a tracking grenade launcher. Basically, you hip-fire arrows to prime enemies with a debuff, and then hit primed enemies with precision shots to trigger an explosion. Any explosions triggered this way can also trigger more explosions, so you can see how this weapon snowballs. The best part is that any Ticuu's Divination can prime or detonate shots, so if you have two or three of these in your team, you can have one person spam hip-fire arrows while everyone else constantly detonates them. This combo is extremely powerful against Champions and large groups of enemies, especially for a primary weapon, and it's well worth owning Ticuu's Divination just for that.

Bad Juju

How to get it: Buy it from the Exotic kiosk in the Tower and get its catalyst as a random common drop.

Why you should use it: It's often difficult to justify an Exotic primary weapon, but Bad Juju really is the whole package. Its unique perk refills the magazine and generates bonus Super energy after every kill, builds a stacking buff that increases weapon damage, and it allows for full-auto fire, which is mighty comfy on a high-RPM pulse rifle like this one. That's basically Full-Auto, Thresh, Rampage, and Subsistence in one perk. Its Exotic catalyst makes it easier to build stacks of its damage buff, String of Curses, which is just the cherry on top. Bad Juju is one of the best weapons for killing red-bar enemies, and unlike The Huckleberry – another great choice – you can guarantee it just by visiting the Exotic kiosk.

Dead Man's Tale

How to get it: Complete the Destiny 2 Dead Man's Tale Exotic quest, and unlock its catalyst by clearing the hard version.

Why you should use it: The Destiny universe technically has weapon manufacturers, but they're often overlooked since guns kind of blend together. That said, Tex Mechanica, the creators of icons like The Last Word, Chaperone, and now Dead Man's Tale are unforgettable. Dead Man's Tale is a 120 RPM semi-auto scout rifle that gains precision damage and reload speed every time you land a headshot, but it really takes off once you get its Exotic catalyst. This thing entirely removes hip-fire accuracy penalties and boosts the RPM to 150 when hip-firing, letting you land pin-point headshots from the hip at scout rifle range. Dead Man's Tale is good in basically all content, both PvE and PvP, and it delivers one of the most enjoyable and satisfying weapon fantasies in Destiny 2.

  • Exotic weapons are the best part of "Destiny 2," Bungie's sci-fi first-person shooter for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
  • We've compiled the complete list of exotic weapons you can obtain in "Destiny 2," and ranked them based on utility for various "Destiny 2" activities.

There's so much to do in "Destiny 2." But one of the best chases in the game is finding all of its exotic weapons.

Exotic weapons are the rarest items in the game. They are completely unique from every other item in the game, and extremely powerful, so you're limited to using only one at a time.

Collecting all of the exotic weapons in "Destiny 2" requires time, effort, and perseverance. Some of them are obtainable through quest lines, while others are random low-chance rewards for completing specific activities.

Here, we've compiled the full list of exotic weapons available in "Destiny 2," and ranked them based on utility for various activities in the game. We're keeping this list updated, as new content is regularly added to the game.

Check out our ranking of exotic weapons in "Destiny 2."

48. The Jade Rabbit

Destiny 2 The Jade Rabbit
Destiny 2

Type: Scout rifle

How to obtain: Random reward

Exotic perk: "The Fate of All Fools - Chain body shots to gain bonus damage on your next precision shot and return ammo to the magazine."

Two cents: The Jade Rabbit is not a very good exotic option in "Destiny 2." Scout rifles are generally weaker guns in the game right now, but Jade Rabbit also suffers from a slow rate of fire and an exotic perk that's useful in only some situations.

47. Skyburner’s Oath

Destiny 2 Skyburner's Oath
Destiny 2

Type: Scout rifle

How to obtain: Random reward

Exotic perk: "Slug Rifle - This weapon fires Solar slugs that get stronger when aiming down sights."

Two cents: Skyburner's Oath got an update earlier this year to make its projectiles track targets when you fire from the hip, but even with that tweak, it's still a pretty weak, slow-firing gun that's outclassed by many other weapons in the game.

46. Borealis

Destiny 2 Borealis
Destiny 2

Type: Sniper rifle

How to obtain: Random reward

Exotic perk: "The Fundamentals - Holding the reload button changes this weapon's damage type, cycling between Solar, Arc and Void."

Two cents: Borealis is a great option if you need to take out lots of enemy shields, but there are better snipers on this list.

45. Worldline Zero

Destiny 2 Worldline Zero
Destiny 2

Type: Sword

How to obtain: Quest

Exotic perk: "Tesseract - Press the trigger after sprinting for a short period to perform a Tesseract."

Two cents: Swords have limited use in Destiny since so many bosses will knock you back — or out — if you get too close. This is fun for cleaning up mobs of smaller enemies, but not for any serious endgame activities.

43. Sweet Business

Destiny 2 Sweet Business
Destiny 2

Type: Auto rifle

How to obtain: Random reward

Exotic perk: "Payday - Larger magazine. Increased accuracy when firing from the hip."

Two cents: Sweet Business is an incredible weapon, but it takes several seconds to rev up since it's basically a mini-gun. Once it starts chunking through the magazine, though, it can erase enemies at a lightning-fast clip.

42. Vigilance Wing

Destiny 2 Vigilance Wing
Destiny 2

Type: Pulse rifle

How to obtain: Random reward

Exotic perk: "Harsh Truths - This weapon fires a 5-round burst. When a nearby ally is killed, gain health regeneration and increased movement speed."

Two cents: Vigilance Wing is fun in most world activities, but truly useful in player-versus-player engagements like Crucible. Its high stability and rate of fire makes for easy kills.

41. Coldheart

Destiny 2 Coldheart
Destiny 2

Type: Trace rifle

How to obtain: Random reward

Exotic perk: "Cold Fusion - This weapon shoots a steady cold fusion-powered laser."

Two cents: This gun is the definition of point and click. Coldheart shoots a blue laser that can wipe out smaller enemies, but it's really best for big bosses.

40. Trinity Ghoul

Destiny 2 Trinity Ghoul
Destiny 2

Type: Combat bow

How to obtain: Random reward

Exotic perk: "Split Electron - Fires an arrow that splits when released. Aiming down sights and fully drawing the bow both decrease the spread."

Two cents: Bows are great for precision damage, but Trinity Ghoul is the rare bow that can also take out mobs of enemies, too. Splitting arrows are great for crowd control.

Now discussing:

After a short water treatment, Timur and I smoked on the balcony and went back to the bedroom. Lena changed into different stockings and a different belt, but now the outfit was complemented by a black leather corset, in which the girl looked even more sexy. On the bed were bottles of lubricant, a pair of dildos, and a strap-on.

Well, boys, - said Lena, - are you ready to show mom a show.
