Essie Winter Collection

Press Sample of the Essie
Winter Collection

Can’t believe it’s almost Winter. The weather is finally feeling like Fall around here and now we’re only about a month away from Winter! It is that time though, and the Winter collections are rolling in, so today we will be taking a look at the Essie Winter Collection!

essie-wintercollection-main

This is a 6 piece collection, which is pretty standard for Essie. That’s one thing I’ve always kind of liked – I always know how many colors they will put out for a seasonal collection. When I received these 6, I really liked the chosen shades. A few moreso than others.

Let’s take a look

Essie Winter Collection – Ready To Boa

essie-wintercollection-ready-to-boa

Starting this off with one of my top picks. Ready To Boa is a deep reddish brown with coppery shimmer throughout. I did 2 easy coats for these photos. This does have a slightly more Fall feel to it, but it’s honestly a color I could wear year round.

Essie Winter Collection – Party On A Platform

essie-wintercollection-party-on-a-platform

Party On A Platform is a dark, slightly dusty cool red. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Essie Winter Collection – Oh Behave!

essie-wintercollection-oh-behave

Essie Oh Behave! is another favorite from this collection. This is a lovely medium peach creme base with gold shimmer that gives it such a beautiful glow. I used 3 thin coats for these photos.

Essie Winter Collection – Getting Groovy

essie-wintercollection-getting-groovy

Getting Groovy is a gold foil finish shade. I used 2 coats for these photos and no top coat.

Essie Winter Collection – Satin Sister

essie-wintercollection-satin-sister

Satin Sister is a deep peacock blue creme. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Satin Sister didn’t want to photograph for me. I got fairly close to the color, but there is more green in it in person. It also had a case of ugly bottle syndrome and no matter how much I tried to shake it up, it was still there. If you look at my photo at the bottom, it’s greener than the rest? Not sure if that’s normal or settling or just weird separation – but my bottle had it.

Essie Winter Collection – Go With The Flowy

essie-wintercollection-go-with-the-flowy

Go With The Flowy is another top pick. This is a lovely dove grey creme with subtle pink and blue shimmers. In the bottle, the shimmer is more obvious, and while it’s not as standout on the nail, it is still there. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos.

Essie Winter Collection

I’ve got several mainstream Winter collections being worked on, and I do have to say – they all seem really different from each other. In previous years, a lot of the mainstream collections seemed very similar and predictable, but this year? Nope. I actually really like it that way and it makes me feel like I need everything! As for the Essie Winter Collection? I found it to lean on the more traditional side, but with shades like Oh Behave! it still had some surprises (you don’t always see a peach shade in Winter!)

My top picks: Ready To Boa, Oh Behave! and Go With The Flowy

As the temperatures dip, so can the desire to play with your beauty arsenal. Snowflakes in your lashes can be a major look killer, and the icy winter wind is going to turn your cheeks the ruddy color of blush anyway, right? But there's good reason to add a little color to your look, even when your inner chill runs deep: It's the happiest time of the year, after all. And if you've already brought out your moodier eyeshadows and deeper lipsticks, there's still room to spice things up—on your nails, to be exact. Your nail polish collection is the perfect place to start when it comes to dressing up—or down—this winter.

Before you know it, you'll be ringing in the holidays with "All I Want for Christmas Is You (Extra Festive Version)," and it's a good time—though when have we ever needed a special occasion?—to switch out those nudes and pastel polishes for something a tad bit more festive. Sparkles! Glitter! Chrome! Neons and sheers give way to deep, dreamy shades that scream December, and your manicure becomes a canvas for some bolder art. Hey, no need to ask us twice. Here, the best winter nail colors, from shimmery party shades to matte jewel tones, to lift you from your cold-weather slump.

Attractive Fall/Winter Nail Polish Colors- Nail Art Ideas

I&#;m continuing my Fall frenzy with a selection from the Essie Winter Nail Polish collection. Ready To Boa is my Fall favorite shade so far.

The theme of the Essie Winter collection is &#;I&#;m into love, peace and getting groovy&#; which has a fun &#;swinging sixties London&#; feel. Kind of like Austin Powers maybe? They even have a shade called &#;Oh Behave&#;.

e1

What&#;s to love?

I chose the Ready To Boa shade because I&#;m really into the bronzy, coppery metallics lately and this one looks great with my new Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Amulet.

The color of Ready to Boa is a beautiful multi-dimensional brown with shades of gold, red and bronze with the mix. It&#;s also got a great shimmer to it!

Essie is a super high quality brand too and this polish goes on very easily. I am wearing two coats but one coat gives great coverage too.

2016 polish colors nail winter

essie Winter Collection

essie Winter Collection

Hello and a happy, blustery Tuesday to you! Well it&#;s blustery here anyway. It&#;s been raining a ton for the last 3 days or so, lots of flooding in areas around the bay. But we definitely needed it! Parker doesn&#;t think so though. 😉

Today I have the essie Winter Collection, which is a six-piece collection of new shades in cremes, shimmers and metallics. Most of these had a pretty good formula with just two coats. A couple had some slight unevenness to them even with three. Let&#;s dig in!

essie Go With The Flowy

Go With The Flowy

Go With The Flowy is a light dove grey with silvery shimmer. This one, even with three thin coats didn&#;t completely cover my nails (mainly the heavily ridged ones).

essie Oh Behave!

Oh Behave!

Oh Behave! is a light peach with frosty peach shimmer. This is the other one which needed three coats, but it covered more evenly than Go With The Flow did. Pretty shade under certain lighting and it doesn&#;t *really* have that gross frosty look from the 80&#;s.

essie Getting Groovy

Getting Groovy

Getting Groovy is a C3PO metallic. Yes, I have been calling gold shades like this C3PO for oh, around 6 or 7 years now because they remind me of him so much. This was two coats, very smooth and even.

essie Party On A Platform

Party On A Platform

Party On A Platform is a medium/deep red creme. This was two coats. Nothing exciting really, been there, done that.

essie Satin Sister

Satin Sister

Satin Sister (why do I keep wanting to type &#;Satan Sister&#;?) is a dark peacock blue creme. I really like this one! It&#;s very creamy and saturated and covered perfectly with two coats.

essie Ready To Boa

Ready To Boa

Ready To Boa is a dark mahogany with heavy red shimmer. Ohhhhhh yes, this is my kind of lit-from-within shade. Gorgeous and two perfect coats.

essie Winter Collection

There were some here I didn&#;t particularly love, either because of the formula or maybe the color wasn&#;t that interesting, but there are a few keepers as well. My favorite shades are Satin Sister and Ready To Boa. I have a like/hate with Oh Behave! It&#;s really pretty, but also kind of dated looking and only looks that amazingly shimmery under a flash or very bright lighting. Go With The Flowy would have been better to me if it covered more evenly. Party On A Platform and Getting Groovy had good formulas, but definitely aren&#;t unique shades.

You can find the essie Winter Collection on their site and where ever essie is sold.

Did you/are you picking up anything from this collection?

Anna with a smile touched her nose with her finger, outlining a straight profile, slid over his lips, chin and went down to his neck. She buried her face in his chest, parted the zipper of his shirt, pressed her lips together, listening intently to his heart beating. - My love, - Serge smiled, feeling how he was engulfed in flames, - it seems it's time for us to return to the hut.
